100% Committed to Clean Energy
About the Utah Renewable Communities program
Our mission is to empower communities to choose a clean, renewable energy future.
What is URC?
Utah Renewable Communities, also known as the Community Renewable Energy Agency, represents a coalition of cities, counties, and towns that are working to launch a default net-100% renewable electricity option for customers of Rocky Mountain Power in their respective communities.
Why URC?
URC is a broad, diverse, and collaborative initiative.
This program unites a wide range of Utah communities, demonstrating strength in numbers and a commitment to shared goals across the political, economic, and geographic spectrum.
Find Out if Your Community is Participating
URC provides reliable, utility-scale clean energy.
The program is designed to deliver power from utility-scale resources connected to the existing grid, ensuring reliability regardless of daily weather conditions.
Learn How it Works
URC empowers residents with greater energy choice.
The program increases the ability of residents to choose net-100% renewable energy, an option not available otherwise. Communities will decide whether to pass an ordinance for final participation. RMP customers will be automatically adopted into the program, but will have the ability to opt out if desired.
